Meet Mrs. Cox
Hi! My name is Heather Cox (formerly Heather Murphy). I am originally from Thompsonville, IL (go Tigers!). This year marks my 8th year as an educator. For the first 5 years of my teaching career, I taught all social studies classes at Galatia High School. While at Galatia, I also coached volleyball, girls basketball, and cheerleading as well as sponsored Student Council, the yearbook, and the class of 2009 and 2010. In 2011, I was hired at HMS to teach Connections Class. Although I loved Connections, I missed Social Studies terribly. So, when the opportunity arose to get back to teaching Social Studies I jumped on board. I have always been a lover of history and couldn't imagine teaching any other subject. As well as teaching social studies, I coach middle school volleyball, J.V. high school volleyball and assist with high school track. My husband and I reside here in Harrisburg. He teaches at HHS (health and drivers education) and coaches Freshmen Football, J.V. wrestling, and Varsity track. We hope to expand our family this year and have a future bulldog of our own:) Thanks for stopping by!
